Battlezone II Combat Commander

Who are you and what do you know about Battlezone 2?

I’m a guy that was a fan of the original Battlezone, but didn’t too much get into Battlezone II. I know that if you want to play it nowadays, the easiest way is to pick the remastered version, Battlezone: Combat Commander, on Steam.

Oh, and there’s the long-forgotten and totally outdated Battlezone II section of Local Ditch Gaming. It could be worth a visit if you want to remember a pre-BZII world, complete with “Pandemic Watch” websites.

Serving Anet - May 18, 2013 (0 Comments)

On this page:
http://www.localditch.com/interstate-76/faq.html

You state that the only server is on battlezone1.net This is not true, the anet server has been in operation continuously since 2002.

911 servers owned and operated by Eddy Wright (Wright Hobbies LLC) since 2002 for all your Activision Activenet games

The servers.dat is available on the forum, http://battlezoneclub.org

Great to hear that there are still a few more anet servers out there. I think at one point in time I used to have a link to the bz911 servers, but removed it when the .com site went down. It looks like the site has moved over to a .net address since I’ve been following it.

In Interstate ’76, the server connections work a bit differently than in BZ and some of the other Activision games. There is no servers.dat file. Instead, users have to manually input the server address. Just to verify, is 911.alink.bz911.net the correct address? I’ve updated the site to reflect that, but would like to confirm that it is indeed correct.

Linking the Map Zone - May 17, 2013 (0 Comments)

You have a great website, I mainly visited it for the Battlezone pages, I saw that you allow sites to be added to your link page upon request. I would like to ask if you could add my site, it is located at http://home.kpn.nl/lrother1994/maproom.htm or, if you want the short link http://www.bzmaps.tk

I already have a link to your site up on my links page, you provide some very good information about Battlezone and other games, I really enjoy browsing your site.

It’s up on the site. Thanks for the e-mail and the link!

how do you edit a mission

Obviously, this is a Battlezone related question. Rather than answer it myself and pretend I know what I’m talking about, I’m just going to link to the first relevant thing that I found: https://www.scritube.com/limba/engleza/technical/BATTLEZONE-The-MultiPlayer-Map427111420.php.

Out-of-Date - February 3, 2010 (0 Comments)

The servers.dat file you have is an old one. The most current servers.dat file can be found at https://www.bz911.com/anet2/servers.dat. It contains the 5 operational anet servers available today.

Thanks for the heads-up. I’ve changed the links on this site so that they now point directly to the bz911 servers.dat file, in order to make sure everyone gets the latest version

Hi i love Battlezone but i cant find the game anywhere for free i got no money realy no money but i would like to play this game full version and i do not have a cd player on my pc so if you know someone or somewhere where i can download the full version game for free and where i do not need to subscribe to any thing i would surly love it if you can provide me with it. if you like this game and you would like to play with someone else and cant find player if i get the game ill be able to play with you or your friends if they are looking for a player.

There’s an old saying: “If you can’t afford it, then it’s not for you.” Honestly, a quick search would get you the results way faster than me. For a Battlezone site that is current and up-to-date, check out Battlezone1.net.

Battlezone Woes - August 9, 2009 (0 Comments)

Can you believe I am just now playing this game. I am having two problems. One is upgrading to a new weapon I created. Tried just running the ship into it, but it will not pick it up. Of course I already have a limit of weapons. Figure I have to remove one somehow?

Also, I sometime need to gather info on something I find. I place the reticle over the subject and try the I key but nothing seems to happen. I have read to use the T-I key, seems more like it should be “Spacebar”-I key. At any rate, I have then been told of insubordination and game is ended for failing to achieve directives.

Make sure that weapon type matches the hardpoint that your ship has. If you’re in a Scout, for example, there are two hardpoints for a cannon. Trying to put a rocket in there is not going to work.

For the latter part of the question, I’m betting that this happens during mission 3. Be sure to turn the option for Strategy Help off. After that, just get the target reticule over the object, press “I” and you’re good to go.

Flattery will get you everywhere - July 3, 2009 (0 Comments)

Zzzz your site is sooo out of date..

CSA WTF it’s CCA Dummy!

Shit, you’re completely right. And the worst part of it all? It’s probably been like that for 10 years. The terminology is correct now, but as far as the rest of the Battlezone section being completely out of date: it’s just an archive at this point, so it’s going to stay that way.

Questions prior to 2009 have been removed to due age and lack of relevance. Thanks to everyone who's reach out over the years!
