Game Utilities

NAIS Shell version 2.02 - This is a great utility that allows you to design unit logos, check for hacked mechs and strip them of their weapons, and play mechs the Marauder and Savanna hovercraft. Version 2.02 adds a GUI and more mechs.

Chassed - This utility is a 3D Chassis Editor for Mercenaries.

Hi Res Mercs 3D - Allows Mercenaries to display resolutions higher than 640x480 in 3D-enhanced versions of Mercenaries.

Missions.zip - This is a collection of missions for Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries.

SMK Player - This allows you to view all the movies in the game that are in SMK format.

Mechwarrior 2 Game Manual (1.36 MB) - This is a pdf version of the game manual for Mechwarrior 2. If you've lost your copy or have never seen it in the first place, check it out.

Ghost Bear's Legacy Game Manual (399 KB) - The manual for the Mechwarrior 2 expansion pack Ghost Bear's Legacy is available here in pdf format.

Mercenaries Demo

You'll need to download each of these files:

All the MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries files have been compressed for your convenience. The resulting file that you are downloading is called an archive file.

NOTE: Be sure that all files have been downloaded using the above filenames and into the same directory before proceeding.

After downloading the above files you will need to go through two steps before playing the MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries demo.

  1. Install the MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries demo files by running mercdown.exe.
  2. Once installed, double-click on the MercDemo icon in the folder which the MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries demo was installed.

The instructions for these two steps are available in a separate file, help.txt.

Download from somewhere besides Activision or FilePlanet.

Titanium Netmech/Mercnet Demo

Mercenaries Titanium Trilogy (16-bit) edition (single download)

Titanium Mercnet and Netmech

You can now play the Titanium version of Mercnet or Netmech for free! These are the 3D hardware accelerated versions of Titanium Mercnet and Netmech. You will need a 3D accelerator board in order to play this version. The game currently has native support for 3Dfx GLide and Rendition RRedline. You may be able to play the game with other cards using Direct 3D drivers.

Notes: Installation Instructions

The 16-bit Titanium version of MercNet and NetMech are available in a single downloadable file or in multi-part (10 MB) files. It is recommended that you download the multi-part version if you cannot download the entire file at one time.

Note:
This is a stand alone version of the multi-player versions of the MechWarrior 2: The Titanium Trilogy (MercNet and NetMech). This is not a patch, and does not require the full version of the game to play.

Mult-Part Installation (MercNet or NetMech) You will need three times the total download in available hard dive space in order to properly install the game (100 MB for Mercnet and 150 MB for Netmech)
